The Blessing Called a Day

What's within a day that makes us smile?
Is it the rising sun? The everlasting cerulean sky?
Or maybe it's the lush green trees, with leaves that shower
Growing taller and taller with each passing hour

With all the chances given as trials
Challenging all invitations and denials
Falling, soaring, aiming up high
Trying, conquering, reaching the sky

With all the steps taken in a day
Each making it difficult to stay
Stay in this world, completely sane
Although the rest of the journey still remains

All the people we see around
Around the world, so full of sound!
People we love and those we don't as well
Both giving us laughter and giving us hell

So What is this blessing, so full of sorrow?
Bringing us down, but promising tomorrow
For one cannot predict of future events
All there is to be done, is to be patient

Ok, this poem was inspired by the extemporaneous speech (impromptu) speech I had to do for my English class. Because apparently, my topic was "What is the best time of the year?" and I chose everyday to be the best time of the year and within my speech I called everyday a gift from God and just continued being religious on the topic...So yeah
